About once a month, Lake Fellowship hosts a special event called Soup Sunday. It's part lunch, part fundraiser, and all heart. Read the FAQs below to learn more and get involved.

What is Soup Sunday?

On a designated Soup Sunday, a group of people (often a family or 2-3 individuals) prepare and serve a soup lunch to the people in attendance that day. Donations are welcomed, and the money raised goes to a well-vetted charity, selected by the soup makers, as a goodwill gesture to our community.

When are Soup Sundays?

Clay Atkinson and his wife Ann Packard were very involved, beloved members of Lake Fellowship in the ‘80s, '90s, and early 2000s until they moved to Maine. Many of us have remained in touch and will miss him.

Clay's Celebration of Life will be in Portland, ME, Sunday, June 21, 2026, at 2pm EST and on Zoom. There will be a photo slide show before and after.

The following statement was issued on June 5th by the Unitarian Universalist Association.

Our spring auction was held on April 25th, 2026. The theme was Earth day!  Lake Fellowship was decorated with this theme. This event had both a silent and live auction, and all winners had to be present to win (not a virtual event, this time).  We focused on donations from friends and members of Lake Fellowship, and everyone was welcome to attend and bid on items.

Neighborhood Food Project (NFP)

Wear our LFUU shirts, sweatshirts, caps, and visors with our original design and be ready to answer when people ask, “What does that stand for?” or “What is Lake Fellowship UU?”

Twin Cities Pride is June 27-28, and MUUSJA will once again have a booth. Last year we had a blast volunteering and a couple of people from our church are interested in volunteering again. Shifts are organized in groups of four, so if we sign up early enough we could volunteer together. If you've never done a glitter blessing at a Pride booth before, it's exactly as joyful as it sounds.

Soup Sunday

This Sunday, May 3rd, is Soup Sunday.  The Lake Fellowship board has volunteered to bring the soup/snack this Sunday.  Reminder to bring some cash or a check to donate to a local organization that provides food to our food insecure neighbors. 

Neighborhood Food Project

This Sunday is also our monthly collection day for the Neighborhood Food Project (NFP).

Sunday, May 17th, is our final program of the 2025 - 2026 program year, before we break for summer. This year, we're continuing our "Photo of the Year" feature, in which we will be sharing our special photos with one another, in a slideshow presentation format. We'd like you to select your single favorite photo from the past year. You don't need to have taken the photo, but if you use someone else's work, please be sure to credit the photographer. The photo can be of any family-friendly subject: historic, natural, portrait, or scenic -- whatever you'd like to share.
