LFUUers at No Kings events

June 19, 2025

Many LFUU members and friends showed up to protect our democracy at No Kings events on Saturday, June 14! They did so despite being in shock and grief over the murder of the Hortmans and shootings of the HoƯmans and being asked by authorities not to because of safety concerns since the killer was still at large. Many more weren’t able or chose not to attend but were there in heart and spirit.

On the June 16 nationwide No Kings debrief on Zoom, they reported that well over 5 million people showed up at over 2,100 No Kings events in all 50 states and many other countries!

Responding to the Anti-Trans Movement

June 6, 2025

This three-session MUUSJA course offers an introduction to gender diversity and trans identity and equips you to respond to the current political attack on trans people.

Content includes trans 101, vital information to counter rampant anti-trans propaganda, and concrete actions that are needed in order for UU congregations to be spaces of safety and belonging to trans people and our families in this moment. We’ll also be discussing what you and your congregation can do to support trans refugee work in Minnesota.

No Kings Day of Defiance

May 20, 2025

On Flag Day, Saturday, June 14, actions will take place all across the country during Donald Trump’s military parade in Washington, D.C. People will come together instead to center the story of America and lift up the pro-democracy and pro-worker movements.

We will meet at Lake Fellowship at 11am to carpool to the Chaska event. If you would like to attend, please email Laurie Gauer (gauer_mn@yahoo.com) by Thursday, June 12th.

Summer Break. But wait!

May 15, 2025

Dear LFUU Members and Friends,

This Sunday is the last before the Memorial Day weekend and, thus, our last program of 2024-2025 and the beginning of our summer break. As a lay-led congregation, our Program Committee needs this time to rest and recharge. A big thanks to Dan and Marnie for their planning, scheduling, creating, and leading of this past program year. It inspired, educated, and delighted us!

Prepping for our annual meeting on Sunday

May 1, 2025

Dear LFUU Members and Friends,

This week I am writing my Report from the Chair and preparing for our Annual Business Meeting on Sunday, so I am not writing a Message for the newsletter.

You should’ve received an email on Tuesday with the meeting information, agenda, and attachment. All are welcome to join us in-person or on Zoom: the Zoom link is below. Hope to see you on Sunday!

In Fellowship,

Laurie Gauer
