New Tuesday Meditation Group at Lake Fellowship

October 8, 2025

A new 5-week meditation group will meet Tuesday evenings at Lake Fellowship beginning October 21 (6:30–8:00 p.m.). Each week offers a quiet space to pause, reconnect, and explore a different meditation technique through guided practice, silence, and gentle reflection. Led by Matthew Tift, a Kripalu Yoga teacher with training in mindfulness and meditation, the group welcomes everyone. No experience or beliefs required. The group is free, but please register ahead of time so we know how many to expect.

No Kings event on October 18

October 8, 2025

On Saturday, October 18, people all across the country will gather for No Kings, a day of action to lift up democracy, justice, and worker power. Instead of bowing to authoritarianism, we will come together to tell a different story of America, rooted in freedom and dignity for all.

We will meet at the A-frame at 11:30 a.m. to carpool to the Chaska event that starts at 12:30 p.m. If you would like to attend, please email Laurie Gauer (gauer_mn@yahoo.com).

Soup Sunday: 10/5/25

September 21, 2025

Hi Lake Fellowship members and friends, this Sunday, Oct. 5th, is theSoup  Sunday, Yahoo!

You remember how this works, you get something taste (soup or yummy snacks) to eat and you donate $$ to the charity chosen by your “soup” makers.

Also, please sign up to provide “soup” for a future Sunday.  You’ll find a signup sheet on the bulletin board (thanks for putting that up, Terry).

Neighborhood Food Project Sunday: 10/5/25

September 21, 2025

It’s time to collect your non perishables and bring them to LF this Sunday, Oct. 5th for Lake Fellowship’s Neighborhood Food Project!  You all know how this works, you get some groceries/personal items and bring them to LF (or have a friend deliver them, like the McGlynn’s are bringing our bag) on the first Sunday of the month (Sept- May), Curtis and Patsy will deliver the items to WeCAN’s food shelf and mobile mark on Monday.  We have a few “Green/orange Bags” at the A-frame, so feel free to bring your donations and fill up a bag.

Welcome to LFUU's 2025-26 Program Year!

September 4, 2025

Welcome to LFUU's 2025-26 Program Year! My first instinct was to say, “Welcome HOME!” After 35 years as a member, the beginning of our program year feels like a homecoming to me. But if you haven’t been coming to Lake Fellowship of Unitarian Universalists for very long, maybe it doesn’t yet. My second instinct was to say, “Welcome BACK!” But perhaps you’ll be visiting us for the first time . . . I’m excited for you and us!

Soup Sunday: September 7, 2025

September 3, 2025

Hi, Lake Fellowship (LF) members and friends!

I am very excited to announce the continuation of “Soup Sunday” for charity at the A-frame this Sunday (9-7-25)!  What is Soup Sunday you ask, well it’s a brainchild of member, Vicki Larson.  The idea is to serve soup (or stew) on the first Sunday of every month after the program with members and friends.  You will enjoy soup or a light snack and contribute any amount you can to a charity in our community.

Neighborhood Food Project Kick-off 2025

September 3, 2025

Hi all, it’s time to resume Lake Fellowship’s Neighborhood Food Project (NFP), so load up your “green or orange” food bags (if you don’t have one, just put the food in a paper bag)!  You all know how this works: you get some groceries/personal items and bring them to LF (or have a friend deliver them) on the first Sunday of the month (Sept- May) and the Muehlbergs will deliver the items to WeCAN’s food shelf and mobile market on Monday.  We have a few “Orange Bags” at the A-frame (if you need one), so feel free to bring your donations and fill up a bag.

LFUUers at No Kings events

June 19, 2025

Many LFUU members and friends showed up to protect our democracy at No Kings events on Saturday, June 14! They did so despite being in shock and grief over the murder of the Hortmans and shootings of the HoƯmans and being asked by authorities not to because of safety concerns since the killer was still at large. Many more weren’t able or chose not to attend but were there in heart and spirit.

On the June 16 nationwide No Kings debrief on Zoom, they reported that well over 5 million people showed up at over 2,100 No Kings events in all 50 states and many other countries!
