Dear LFUU Members and Friends,
This Sunday is the last before the Memorial Day weekend and, thus, our last program of 2024-2025 and the beginning of our summer break. As a lay-led congregation, our Program Committee needs this time to rest and recharge. A big thanks to Dan and Marnie for their planning, scheduling, creating, and leading of this past program year. It inspired, educated, and delighted us!
And as Minnesotans, we want to spend every minute outside enjoying our short summer and not attending programs inside. Before we know it, the first Sunday after the Labor Day weekend and, thus, our first program of 2025-26 will be here. This will be the last weekly newsletter and Message from the Board Chair until the week before that.
But wait! Not all LFUU activity ceases for the summer! Watch your emails for info about:
- Our annual Summer Fun events: Picnic on July 19 and Canoe Trip on August 9
- Book Club monthly meetings
- Rumored Bike Outings, Landscape Planting Day, and Church Rummage Sale
- Social Action opportunities
- Committee meetings
- Board meetings: One in June for the wrap-up of the 2024-25 Board and the start-up of the 2025-26 Board. Another in August to review our strategic plan and set goals for the coming year.
Wow! There are a lot of opportunities for our community to stay connected over the summer. So, instead of saying see you in the Fall, I'll say, see you this summer!
Yours in Fellowship,
Laurie Gauer, Chair
