Many LFUU members and friends showed up to protect our democracy at No Kings events on Saturday, June 14! They did so despite being in shock and grief over the murder of the Hortmans and shootings of the HoƯmans and being asked by authorities not to because of safety concerns since the killer was still at large. Many more weren’t able or chose not to attend but were there in heart and spirit.
On the June 16 nationwide No Kings debrief on Zoom, they reported that well over 5 million people showed up at over 2,100 No Kings events in all 50 states and many other countries!
They emphasized it only takes 3.5% of the population engaging in sustained, strategic protest against authoritarianism to achieve significant political change. So they shared ideas on what to do next. Find those at www.nokings.org/next.
