Message from the Charitable Outreach Chair

Hi, Lake Fellowship (LF) members and friends!

I am very excited to announce the continuation of “Soup Sunday” for charity at the A-frame this Sunday (9-7-25)!  What is Soup Sunday you ask, well it’s a brainchild of member, Vicki Larson.  The idea is to serve soup (or stew) on the first Sunday of every month after the program with members and friends.  You will enjoy soup or a light snack and contribute any amount you can to a charity in our community.  

Hi all, it’s time to resume Lake Fellowship’s Neighborhood Food Project (NFP), so load up your “green or orange” food bags (if you don’t have one, just put the food in a paper bag)!  You all know how this works: you get some groceries/personal items and bring them to LF (or have a friend deliver them) on the first Sunday of the month (Sept- May) and the Muehlbergs will deliver the items to WeCAN’s food shelf and mobile market on Monday.  We have a few “Orange Bags” at the A-frame (if you need one), so feel free to bring your donations and fill up a bag.

WeCAN Shoe Drive Begins June 9

Hi Lake Fellowship members and friends, 

This Sunday, May 4th is the last Soup Sunday until we resume meeting in September. Maia Larson and family members from the children’s program will be bringing something yummy to share with us all.  You remember how this works, you get something tasty to eat and you donate $$ to the charity of choice.

Thank you Maia and her band of busy little hands for the goodies, please show them your appreciation.

Sunday, May 4th, is the last orange bag (NFP) non perishable food donation until September. You will hear about how much we donated (#’s of food, $$, personal items) over the past 8 months at the annual meeting, as well as plans to make donations easier starting this September. I will not be attending the annual meeting, so let me take this opportunity to thank you all for your giving spirit!

 WeCAN is Chamber's Not-for-Profit of the Year

Dear WeCAN friends,

I am grateful and proud to announce that WeCAN was selected as the 2024 Not-for-Profit Organization of the Year by the Excelsior-Lake Minnetonka Chamber of Commerce!

Lake Fellowship will participate in WeCAN's March FoodShare Challenge, via our Neighborhood Food Project (NFP/green/orange bag) monthly food collection. More information from WeCAN about this event below. We look forward to your support of these important food and fund raisers to help our community.

Hi all, it’s time to continue our commitment to Lake Fellowship’s Neighborhood Food Project (NFP)!  You all know how this works, you get some (non perishable) groceries/personal items and bring them to LF (or have a friend deliver them) on the first Sunday of the month (Sept- May) and Larry Muehlberg (thank you Larry and Peggy) will deliver the items to WeCAN’s food shelf and mobile market on Monday.  We have a few “Green/Orange Bags” at the A-frame, so feel free to bring your donations and fill up a bag.  WeCAN also takes cash or checks (WeCan Food Shelf).

Hello Lake Fellowship members/friends.  I am wishing for fewer people that are food insecure during 2025!  Lake Fellowship has donated approximately 50 lbs of food/month, $100.00 and 20 personal items.  That is outstanding!

I am challenging you to increase the amount of food donated/month to 75lbs. We start this challenge this Sunday, Jan. 5th.
