Our guest speaker today is Brian Nowak. He will speak to us about his work with environmental issues as a very active member of MN350.
We invite you (and those you know) to join us this Sunday for another discussion.
Our topic to consider and discuss this week will be a follow up from the program today. After a discussion about current events in the National Football League, we'll talk about what role models our culture promotes, especially for young men, and what we might learn from that.
We'll share our thoughts, and figure out what our next topic will be after this. As always, come with an open mind, and an open heart.
Today, we'll moderate a discussion about some of the current events happening within the National Football League. Specifically, we'll have talking points about Ray Rice (Baltimore Ravens running back indicted for third-degree aggravated assault) and Adrian Peterson (Minnesota Vikings running back indicted for reckless injury to a child).
We'll also seek thoughts about how the NFL reflects our culture as Americans, for better or worse.
We invite you (and those you know) to join us this Sunday for another discussion.
Our topic to consider and discuss this week will be morality and our sources of it. If we let go of the idea of God, from where to we draw inspiration and solidity to form moral and ethical guidelines? How do we help our children value kindness and working toward a greater good?
We'll share our thoughts, and figure out what our next topic will be after this. As always, come with an open mind, and an open heart.
Lake Fellowship member and free software advocate, Matthew Tift, will present his thoughts on how the open source culture and community relate to Unitarian Universalism.
We invite you (and those you know) to join us this Sunday for another discussion.
Our topic to consider and discuss this week will a follow up on the discussion held during the regular program. We'll provide a summary of thoughts for anyone who did not attend the program.

By now many of you have heard about and have maybe even attended a gathering of the BYOT group. BYOT stands for Building Your Own Theology, and it's the title the group has used to represent one of the core goals of the group. The group started meeting early this past summer, has been meeting weekly ever since, and plans to continue weekly meetings for the foreseeable future.
For our program today, BYOT group creators Marnie Karger and Dave Wahlstedt will share more about the group's origin, what meetings are like, and what we hope attendees will acquire from them.
