Gretchen Wahlstedt will introduce us to the nonprofit group she helped to found, 11 Angels. The mission of this organization is to provide support and guidance to families experiencing the loss of a child through miscarriage, stillbirth or early infant death. She will draw upon her eight years of experience working with families in order to shed light on this painfully difficult subject that often fails to make its way into public discourse. For more information about the group, visit their site at: http://www.11-angels.org/

Have you read something amazing in the year 2013? Perhaps it was a historical account that changed how you thought of a major political event. Maybe it was a quote or a poem that has become your new mantra. Or maybe it was a work of fiction that kept you up late at night until you reached the final page. Whatever it was, please come prepared to share some of the best writing you've read from 2013. You need not bring the material to share, just be sure to have the title and author on hand so we can share our favorites with one another.
Unitarian Universalism promotes itself as a religious tradition where everyone is welcome and diversity of belief is assumed. This has created a safe home for many on their spiritual paths. But it can also create some uncertainty when we try to come together in community. How welcome are my beliefs? How open can I be about my Christian faith? my atheism? my Buddhism? And if I decide to label myself, then will I forever be limited to that label?
Friend of the Fellowship, Nicole Ryan will present tales from her new job working with the Search and Rescue squad in Florida.
No program today. Enjoy your holiday and seasonal gatherings.
In 1930, two brave young men paddled from Minneapolis to Hudson Bay and documented their odyssey in the book Canoeing With the Cree. For the 75th anniversary of this historic adventure, two men canoed the same route in 2005, followed by two other men in 2008. Ann Raiho and Natalie Warren became the first two women to canoe this route.
WeCAN Executive Director Leah Weycker will join us today to share a short video and talk about the unique needs of services for people in Western Hennepin County.
