Neighborhood Food Project
This Sunday is our monthly collection day for the Neighborhood Food Project (NFP).
Please bring groceries/items to Lake Fellowship. We have a few “Green/orange Bags” at the A-frame, so feel free to bring your donations in your own bag(s) from home and fill up a bag at Lake Fellowship. WeCAN also takes checks if you want to make a cash donation, which they use to buy perishables. Last month Lake Fellowship members donated $125.00, which was the largest cash donation we gave WeCAN food shelf!
Check out the graphic below or See the wishlist for the most-needed items.
We also need a volunteer to deliver the food on April 5th to WeCAN as the McGlynn’s aren’t available. We usually make the delivery on Monday morning and WeCAN staff will gladly carry the food into the building if you want assistance.
LF set a goal to donate 1,000 pounds of non perishables this year (Sept. - May) to WeCAN. After this month, we have one more month (May) to reach our goal. Thus far (Sept - March), we have donated 567 pounds of food, more than 25 personal care items and more than $192.00 in cash.
Thanks for continuing to make a difference in our community.
WeCAN Speaker/Program
WeCAN’s volunteer coordinator, Kari Raaen, will be giving a program at Lake Fellowship on April 12th. She'll give us an update about WeCAN's efforts and share how we can continue to stay involved in their work.
Soup Sunday - next month
This Sunday, April 5th is the first Sunday and normally Soup Sunday, however, due to it being Easter and the fact that we did not have any volunteers to provide the soup, we will not have Soup Sunday this month.
May 3rd will be the last Soup Sunday of our programming year until we resume meeting in September. We need volunteers to make the soup, so please sign up on the board at the A-frame.
Thank you
