Description

Lake Fellowship warmly welcomes back Kari Raaen from WeCAN, Western Communities Action Network, Inc. in Mound. Kari will offer an overview of the services WeCAN provides for our community, update us on how their projects, both urgent and ongoing, are doing, and she'll tell us how we can get involved in upcoming events and volunteer opportunities.

About our speaker: Kari Raaen has been dedicated to outreach and serving others throughout her life. She led her church’s Food for Friends program for four years before making the decision to spend the final chapter of her career doing what she had always envisioned—working in the nonprofit sector. In 2023, she joined WeCAN as Volunteer Coordinator, where she oversees and supports a strong team of volunteers and welcomes new individuals to get involved. Alongside Tim Wendt, she co-founded the WeCAN Food Project, and she also created the Faith Fellowship Meeting, bringing clergy and church members together to collaborate on community outreach. Kari additionally manages Family Support Services programs, continuing her commitment to supporting families in the community.
