The Soup Sunday logo is a pair of hands holding a steaming bowl. The steam forms a heart shape, and the words Soup Sunday are below the hands.

Soup Sunday

Soup Sunday is held the 1st Sunday of each month. This month, Sheila Zwettler with family and friend will make and serve a delicious soup to share. She has chosen a local charity for us to contribute to and she’ll tell you all about it on Sunday. I really appreciate Sheila stepping up to participate in Soup Sunday and I encourage you all to sign up. The beautiful sign up sheet is on the bulletin board at Lake Fellowship, or you can email me. Last month, Tom Naylor made a fantastic soup and the Larson’s provided sides -- I love the collaboration!

Thanks for all of your support, donations and checks.

Neighborhood Food Project

The Neighborhood Food Project (NFP) started on Oct. 4th this year, and we donated 35lbs of food and one personal item. This Sunday is our 2nd collection of non perishables and it promises to be even bigger. Last year, I set a goal of 1,000 lbs of food (Oct to May), which is 125lbs per month. This proved to be a little more than we could achieve, so this year I challenge LF members and friends to contribute 100lbs/month. I know we can do it, because you are all so generous. Let’s help our neighbors here in our community enjoy food security this year (2026 - 2027).

Please bring groceries/items to Lake Fellowship. We have a few “Green/orange Bags” at the A-frame, so feel free to bring your donations in your own bag(s) from home and fill up a bag at Lake Fellowship. WeCAN also takes checks if you want to make a cash donation, which they use to buy perishables.

Laurie Gauer volunteered to drive the food we collect to WeCAN on the Monday after our Sunday food drive collection, please help Laurie load up her car and thank her for delivering our contributions to WeCAN.

I want to thank you all for helping reduce food insecurity in our community.
