Lake Fellowship's Les Kraus Charitable Outreach Group is sharing the following news from WeCAN:

WeCAN is Chamber's Not-for-Profit of the Year

Dear WeCAN friends,

I am grateful and proud to announce that WeCAN was selected as the 2024 Not-for-Profit Organization of the Year by the Excelsior-Lake Minnetonka Chamber of Commerce!

This is a testament to the great work and dedication of our staff, volunteers, board, donors, and partners who come together every day to serve the children and families who come to us in crisis. This award encourages us to work even harder to be a strong member of this great community.

Joining me in the photo are WeCAN board member Dave Netznik and Chamber ED Tiffany King.

Yours in service,

Christopher Anderson

WeCAN Executive Director

Spring Into Action to Kick Hunger - Week 1

“Spring into Action to Kick Hunger” is the theme of our annual Minnesota FoodShare Campaign, which runs from March 1 through April 6. Each week, we'll offer donation suggestions to help us fill our shelves. During the campaign, all food, personal care and cleaning products, and monetary donations will be proportionally matched by Minnesota FoodShare.

It's not too late to enter our friendly competition between teams of friends, family members, co-workers, or anyone you call your team, to see who can collect the greatest number of products during the six-week campaign. The winning team will receive a $75 gift card from Carbone's Pizzeria, while the second-place team will receive a $50 gift card. To register*, send your team name, contact person, email address, and phone number, to Lorrie.

* Lake Fellowship will be participating through our ongoing, monthly Neighborhood Food Project donations. You're welcome to participate individually or with other groups as well.
