Lake Fellowship welcomes Guest Speaker Laura C. Red Eagle to present a program about Indigenous language revitalization. Language revitalization is an effort made to halt or reverse the decline of a language, or revive an extinct one.  The revitalization of indigenous languages is essential for ensuring the continuation and transmission of culture, customs and history.  In this program, learn how the Ho-Chunk lost their language and the efforts being done to address the issue.

Laura is a member of the Ho-Chunk Nation, and is a Ho-Chunk language instructor.  She learned Ho-Chunk as an adult through a master apprentice program.  She lives in Tejope, WI (Madison) and has taught community classes, higher education classes and at a local high school.
