Lake Fellowship is happy to welcome back author and guest speaker, Andy Fletcher. His talk this day will be about American Christian Nationalism, based on his book, "One Nation Over God: The Americanization of Christianity."
From the publisher:
Throughout American history, from the earliest moments until the present, American Christians have been more American than they have been Christian, willingly and unconsciously integrating faith with political philosophy at the expense of both. Not only have the basic tenets of the Christian faith been compromised and violated, in the interest of protecting our right to practice our faith along with our basic American freedoms, we have been guilty of denying the rights and freedoms of any who are seen to oppose.
It is a book about idolatry, that American Christians have from the very beginning loved America more than they love Christ and have sacrificed him again on the altar of the flag. It is aimed at those same Christians, written from the inside rather than the outside.
Andy will be joining us via Zoom for this program.
