This is America - Get Your Money Black Man

In the past year we have seen the emergence of several movements, including #metoo and #IcallBS.  While these movements have gained mainstream acceptance, there is one movement that has largely been disdained by mainstream America.  Following up on his performance on May 5, 2018 on Saturday Night Live, Childish Gambino (Donald Glover's alter ego) dropped a music video that addresses the myriad of issues of living while black in America - This is America. This week LFUU member Kristin Fulkerson will lead a discussion about the imagery in the "This is America" video and the relationship of entertainment, race and racism and how they have emerged in American culture.
