It is said that if we can name a fear, we can tame it. So what happens when we not only name a fear, but sit with it, listen to it, and maybe even hold it in a loving embrace?

Join LFUU member Marnie Karger for a slightly deeper dive into an often overlooked side of courage: the courage to sit with and agree with fear. This interactive program will include clips from a video interview with Buddhist nun Pema Chödrön, group discussion, and reflection.

To prepare for this program, Marnie invites you to consider the following questions:

  1. When was the last time you were really afraid of something?
  2. What did that feel like in your body?
  3. What happened as a result of that fear -- what did you do or not do because you were afraid?
  4. What was your relationship with "courage" throughout all of this?
