This interactive program will have volunteers read and share favorite poems, song lyrics, quotes, etc. Please dig around and find something inspirational, funny, sad, happy, or whatever that you would like to share with the group.
Come prepared to discuss some of the major local and global current events. As usual we will vote on each subject submitted and the top 3 will make up our program. Our discussion will be lead and moderated by our own Les Kraus.

Dr. Lee Frelich, director of Forest Ecology at the U of M, and Mark Haarman, wilderness guide and activist will discuss the history, ecology and pending future of our Wilderness with plenty of time for Q' and A's.
Jay Gordon is a local classical guitarist, composer and teacher. He'll be performing an original, interfaith work entitled “The Split-Open Sky for solo guitar” animated by the words of Jesus, Buddha and Mohammed. These include designing and building anew home, anticipating changes resulting from climate change and rising energy costs.While his example is rural, these principles can be applied in both urban and suburbanhomes either remodeled or new construction. In his case, they now receive a monthlycredit from their utility for the power they generate from a photovoltaic collector. Theyhave no natural gas or propane tank (except a small one for their grill).
