This marks our final formal gathering of the season. We'll host a talent show open to anyone and everyone, and we'll conclude with a potluck cookout. Bring your smile, your talent, a dish to share, and something to grill.
Current Lake Fellowship Board members, Dave Wahlstedt and Dan Larson will talk with us about what makes LFUU great and what we need from everyone to make it sustainable. They will go through each of the committees to discuss roles and responsibilities, estimated commitment, where there are gaps, and what we need (changes, additions, new positions, etc.) before we break for summer and start up again in the fall. This talk falls nicely just before the Annual Membership Meeting on Saturday, May 16th.
Our guest speaker today is Allison Gardner. Her program will be about disability as a social construct, the stigma surrounding students with mental illness, the impact of such a stigma as well as what (legal and other) power we have to impact change -- a power most people do not even realize they have.

Her talk will focus on practical applications of Nonviolent Communication (NVC) that demonstrate the power of dialogue to transform human communication. We will review the core foundational principles of NVC and will explore applying them to challenging conversations that often center around differences.

Drake Hamilton is the Science Policy Director at the nonprofit organization Fresh Energy Minnesota is on a clean energy path that is creating thousands of jobs and protecting human health and natural resources while cutting carbon pollution that causes global warming. But our work is not done. Join J. Drake Hamilton, science policy director at Fresh Energy, to learn more about historic opportunities Minnesota has to make big strides in clean energy in 2015.
