"American Politics in the Age of Polarization:  1976-2016" - How and why has the US become polarized?  What are the implications of that and what might be done to address it?  As part of this month's theme of Wonder (grace, being present, etc.) it is important as UU's to understand what we can do to cross the divide and keep open minds when discussing political topics.

Spiritual Wondering: A workout for your heart

Life can sometimes be lived more easily when we maintain an indifference to the the world around us. But "the path of least resistance," while often quickest, isn't always the most fulfilling. Our UU principles charge us to endeavor on a never-ending search for truth, and remind us that our lives have meaning that may not always be obvious. Upholding these principles requires action and effort, compassion and reflection, community and wonder.

Guest Speaker: Helen Strand

We love that so many members and friends of Lake Fellowship have such skilled and varied repertoires. And we love it even more that they are willing to share a program on their specialties with us! Friend of the fellowship, Helen Strand is also a Master Naturalist. For her program, she will share a brief description of the Master Naturalist Program, followed by some of the things she has learned about making her yard friendly to wildlife. Her emphasis will be on birds, pollinators, and beneficial insects.

Nurturing Stewards

We kick off April with our new theme of Stewardship. In the past, we've had discussions about how we've been good stewards across a wide spectrum of services and good deeds. Today, we'll look into our pasts to share what and who shaped us to become good stewards. We'll also talk about what we can do to help foster and nurture good stewards around us.

In anticipation of this discussion, please consider the following questions:

1. What thoughts, ideas, images come to mind when you think of the word "steward"?
