WeCAN is hosting and supporting a number of community events this month. Tim, our charitable outreach chair, invites you to check out the following opportunities to attend and volunteer:

Open House: Join us on Thursday, October 8 (That's today!), from 4:00–6:00 p.m. for an afternoon of connection, community, and fun!

Come meet our wonderful staff, take a tour of our office, and learn more about the many programs and services WeCAN provides to support individuals and families in our community. And, of course, there will be food to enjoy, generously donated by Iron Exchange Restaurant, McGarry’s Pub, Surfside Bar & Grill, and Lovy Thai Restaurant!

Whether you’ve been a longtime WeCAN supporter or are just getting to know us, we’d love to see you. Stop by, say hello, grab a bite, and discover all the ways our community comes together to support our neighbors.

Coat Drive: As the weather gets colder, WeCAN is preparing to help keep our neighbors warm this winter!

Our Coat Drive will be held on November 3rd from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m, and November 4th from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Families in need can select warm winter coats and gear for the season.

We will be accepting coat donations at WeCAN from October 12th through October 22nd.

If you have new or gently used winter coats to donate, we would be grateful for your support! We are also in need of new hats and mittens. Together, WeCAN help keep our community warm.

NHS Haunt for Hunger: The Mound Westonka High School National Honor Society holds its annual Haunt for Hunger event on Halloween night (October 31). They will make door-to-door collections across neighborhoods in the Westonka Public Schools district to support WeCAN. Students collect non-perishable canned goods and monetary donations in place of candy.

GTMD: Give to the Max Day is on November 19th!

One day. One community. So many ways to make a difference!

Give to the Max Day is a wonderful opportunity to come together and support the organizations that are making a difference right here in our community. At WeCAN, your generosity helps local families access food, basic needs, transportation, emergency assistance, and programs that help children and families thrive.

When you give to WeCAN, you’re helping your neighbors. You’re providing hope. You’re making a difference. Every gift—no matter the size—helps WeCAN continue supporting our neighbors and strengthening our community.

Mark your calendar for November 19 and join us for Give to the Max Day!

Together, WeCAN make hope happen.
