Dear LFUU Members and Friends,

November’s theme is Nurturing Gratitude. So much to be grateful for!

I’m grateful for YOU! For being part of this Fellowship! For coming to programs, celebrations, and meetings. For sharing your passions, skills, and resources. For making this place possible.

I’m grateful for our LFUU Board members! I’m very grateful that they recently spent a Saturday morning with me reviewing and revising our Three-year Strategic Plan. We had so much fun discussing, disagreeing, and agreeing! This is the third year of the plan and I’m happy to report that we’ve completed or are working on most of our original and added goals. (See image.) And I am VERY grateful to all of you who helped make that happen.

We agreed that this year we’re prioritizing our goal to attract more members. We have 34 members and set an audacious goal of 50! We brainstormed some how-tos, which we’re sharing with the appropriate committees to consider and/or come up with their own, and implement.

Which leads me to why I’m especially grateful for Marilyn! I recently realized that a quarter of our members are here because of her! Why? Because she talks to people about Fellowship, then they talk to people, and so on. I shared this with the Board and we want to encourage all of us to “Be like Marilyn.” To let people know who we are and what we’re about in case they’re needing and/or wanting what we have to offer. Even if they haven’t been looking for it. Let’s NOT keep Lake Fellowship a secret!

We realize that some of us aren’t comfortable bringing up Fellowship for various reasons, so one of our ideas is to print a conversation starter on items for us wear: hats, sweatshirts, etc. Marketing Committee is considering this and would love your ideas for a catchy phrase and/or image; please send them to info@lakefellowship.org.

We also encourage you to invite people to have fun with us at our Celebrations starting with our Thanksgiving Potluck on November 23rd!

What about Lake Fellowship are you grateful for?

Yours in Fellowship,

Laurie Gauer
