Join members and friends of Lake Fellowship for a casual nature hike in Wolsfeld Woods near Long Lake.
Wolsfeld Woods was among the first of Minnesota's Scientific and Natural Areas. It was acquired to protect one the best remaining examples of the Big Woods forest community in the state. The walk will be approximately 2 miles through the colorful and shady maple-basswood forest. Hiking shoes/boots or athletic shoes are recommended due to uneven ground and some hills. Sandals not advised.
We'll meet at 10:30AM and walk for 60-90 minutes, followed by an optional lunch.
Note: there are no bathrooms in this nature reserve.
Updates: The weather forecast looks good, but if it changes, check the Lake Fellowship calendar before you head out. We'll update the website (and send a text to those on the list) if we have to change or cancel.
Directions: From Long Lake, go 0.5 mile N on Brown Rd to Co Hwy 6. Cross 6 and park in the NE corner of Trinity Lutheran Church parking lot. If you're coming from 494, take 6 west all the way to Trinity Lutheran Church.
