In this week's program, Amelia Black and Colin Wendt will describe their most recent trip to Haiti where they worked for a Catholic NGO performing hematology research with Akron Children's Hospital. Exploring January's Theme: Renewal, Revision, and Respite

Bring it on, 2016!

Around the turn of a new year, many of us consider making resolutions -- changes to the way we want to live, hopes for a new year, and plans to make it all happen starting on day one. With that in mind, we will explore ways and reasons to make changes in our lives as well as reinforce the elements that need to stay. Lake Fellowship member Marnie Karger will lead this program with slides, videos, and discussion.

Theme Exploration: Spaciousness

"Spaciousness." Just saying the word sounds like breathing a sigh of relief. Spaciousness is our theme and our lens for the month of December. December is too often a month of hurrying, consumerism, awkward family gatherings, flu and cold illnesses, hunched shoulders, white-knuckle driving conditions, and other stresses that take us away from Spaciousness. Join Marnie Karger, with help from Sangha guru Peggy Meuhlberg, as we explore what Spaciousness is, how we make room for it in our busy lives, and how to reap the rewards from it.

Scarcity of Trust in a Nation of Abundance

Believe it or not, we're living in perhaps the most peaceful time in recorded history. So why are we more afraid than ever? Join Chris Hall as he leads us through a thoughtful discussion about fear in a time of abundance. Our goals for this program will be to share our ideas, express our feelings, and take in the ideas and feelings of those around us with an open heart and mind.

Guest Speaker: Steve Woods

Minnesota is one of a handful of states that does a pretty good job of looking out for its water resources. One could argue that we have an abundance of fresh water that many of us take for granted. The system allows for significant local control, and funding levels are relatively high. Successes abound in some sectors and regions, while progress in others seems unable to keep pace with land alterations that degrade water.
