We’re trying something new for an upcoming program and need your questions! We are having a speaker on neurodiversity in February for our theme of The Practice of Inclusion. He has autism and is a night owl. He asked if he could prerecord his program. We said sure. Because we like to ask questions, we’re soliciting those ahead of time from you so he can answer them in his talk. So, please submit questions about:
1. Neurodiversity in general and/or
2. Inclusion of those who are neurodivergent
And we’re trying a new position on our Social Justice committee! Matthew volunteered to be our Congregational Connector to MUUSJA (Minnesota Unitarian Universalist Social Justice Alliance). He’ll be letting us know what they’re up to and inviting us to participate.
We’re also trying another new marketing effort: a Facebook campaign! Liz, our Social Media Chair, and I, Marketing Chair, created two ads to see which gets a better response:
1. A photo of the A-frame with the wording: Wanting answers? We don’t have any.
2. The other is the image of the new global inclusive LGBTQ+ flag with the wording: “We are building a community of hope with a joyful, wide embrace. We promote learning, friendship, and service in the spirit of liberal religion.”
During our one week run targeting just the local area and people who are 18+, #1 got 23 clicks to our website, #2 got 13. We’re charged per click: it cost us less than $20. Now we’re going to run #1 again with a similar one and will let you know how they do:
1. A photo of the A-frame with the wording: Unchurched? Us too.
I believe it’s good to try new things! To step outside our comfort zone and challenge ourselves. What new thing have you tried recently?
