This Sunday is our annual Fellowship Thanksgiving Feast! It’s a time for us to share what we’re grateful for and our favorite food. The Larsons are bringing a turkey, and we'll also have cranberries, onion tarts, and pumpkin pie. If you didn’t sign up to bring a specific food, just bring what you want, or just your appetite and your willingness to help set-up and clean-up. Everyone is welcome!
I’m grateful that our Fellowship family gathering has historically been drama free! For those of you dreading post-election drama at your own family gathering, here are resources from a couple of my favorite sources that you might find helpful:
- From Braver Angels: When family meets politics. Free on-line Workshop, November 23, noon CT “Family relationships can be hurt by our toxic political environment. Join this workshop to learn how to preserve family bonds while staying true to your values.” Sign up here: Families and Politics
- From Yvette Erasmus, PsyD. LP: Navigating Post-Election Challenging Conversations: A Self-Care Guide. Yvette’s blog “provides a possible roadmap for staying connected with those who don't share our values, without sacrificing our peace or integrity.” Read here: 9 step plan for managing healthy self-care this holiday season.
I am also very grateful for all of you! I’m especially grateful for those who are willing and able to give their time and talents to not just keep this congregation and property going, but to improve it! I am constantly blown away by the depth and diversity of knowledge and skills of this small group.
What are you grateful for?
