Dear Lake Fellowship Members and Friends,

I invite you to briefly pause from worldly concerns and help me CELEBRATE that we’re GROWING! Congregationally and personally.

Let’s CELEBRATE that our congregation is GROWING! I’m excited to announce that Jeni and Joanne are now members of LFUU!

Jeni saw our sandwich board sign out on Cty Rd 19 last year. She was familiar with Unitarian-Universalism and started attending our programs and book club. And she has agreed to be our new bookkeeper starting May 1 when Terry retires from the job!

Joanne attended a Braver Angels workshop we hosted last year. She also was familiar with Unitarian-Universalism and started attending our programs. And she has helped create and lead our new Living Our Values through Spiritual Practices workshops with me!

Let’s CELEBRATE that those programs have helped us GROW personally. They’ve done so by prodding us to look deeper inside ourselves -- which most find challenging. By exploring spirituality -- which many have been averse to. By requiring small group work -- which some find uncomfortable. Joanne and I, and the Program Committee, have agreed that going forward, we will offer those three times a year – fall, winter, spring. That will be doable and keep them fresh. We want to do one this spring. Joanne can help put one on in May, but I can’t. So, we’re asking for a volunteer to help Joanne. To volunteer or learn more, email Joanne at info@lakefellowship.org.

If you want more guidance on GROWING spiritually, I encourage you to check out the on-line groups offered by Soul Matters. There are several, each focusing on a different practice: mindfulness, shamanic journeying, creativity, writing, and reflection on our monthly themes. There is a fee. I’m CELEBRATING that planning this week’s program caused me to GROW! Last October, knowing our theme for this month would be “Inclusion,” I thought it would be great to have a program to learn about what it means to be neurodiverse and how to be inclusive of those who are. So, I sent an email to Fraser, an organization that helps and supports those who are, and asked if they knew someone who would speak to us. My expectation was that they would say they do and give me their contact info; I would then reach out, schedule a date, and they would come and talk to us. That’s not what happened. Throughout the process, I struggled to let go of my expectations. Now, I not only accept what happened, but I’m grateful it did!

How do you want to GROW this week? How will you CELEBRATE your GROWTH?

Yours in Fellowship,

Laurie
