Description

Lake Fellowship welcomes friend of the fellowship Lisa Wersal for her virtual program about writing Letters to the Editor as a form of social activism. From Lisa:

Mother Teresa once described her work this way: "I'm a little pencil in the hand of a writing God, who is sending a love letter to the world.”  We UUers are likewise committed and impassioned to harness love's power to challenge exclusion and oppression, to elevate public conversations, and be a force for good.  One way to help shape public discourse around key issues of our time is to contribute letters-to-the-editor.  Come get useful tips to guide your writing process.  Got an opinion?  Get it published!

Lisa Wersal taught academic writing to university students, and has been a writer of academic articles, essays, opinion pieces, poetry, and many letters-to-the-editor.  She contributes letters regularly to the StarTribune, Pioneer Press, and Vadnais/White Bear Press.

Today's meeting is via Zoom, and co-hosted by Lake Fellowship members Kristin Fulkerson and Terry McGlynn. You can join the group starting at 10:15 a.m. and the program will begin at 10:30. To join, please check your email for the Zoom link, or request a link by sending an email to info@lakefellowship.org. We'll try to get back to you as soon as possible.
