Finding Balance: Building a Vocabulary
A new month brings a new theme, and April's theme is Balance. Throughout this month, we'll explore what balance is, how to achieve it, and why sometimes it's not worth seeking.

Join us for our annual celebration of the Spring season. We'll enjoy a short skit produced by the kids with a potluck and fellowship to follow. Add to the sign-up sheet on the bulliten board to bring food for this day.
It's launch time! Fellowship member Don Penn closes the March discussions around the theme of Perseverance. March 25th will focus on "the problems, perils and promise of persevering as a species (interstellar edition)". This will be the final part of a two-part directed group discussion on the challenges and issues of surviving Human Extinction. We've survived millions of years of evolution to get where we are today, but will be able to beat the clock and overcome our gentically-based tribalism and survival insticts to launch deep into the stars for the survival of our species?
Fellowship member Don Penn continues to lead the March discussions around the theme of Perseverance. March 18th will focus on "the problems, perils and promise of persevering as a species (earth edition)". This will be part one of a two-part directed group discussion on the challenges and issues of surviving Human Extinction.
Fellowship member Don Penn continues to lead the March discussions around the theme of Perseverance. March 11th will focus on "profiles in perseverance". This will be an interesting panel discussion with pre-selected members from our group who will share their own stories of how their own lives have been impacted by unexpected, life-altering events and the tools and techniques they used to persevere through those events.
Fellowship member Don Penn will be leading the March discussions around the theme of perseverance. March 4th will focus on "the peculiarities of Perseverance". This will be a directed group discussion where we will define terms and lay the foundation for what is a very interesting topic that affects each of us on a very personal and mostly a subconscious level.
During the month of February we investigate what it means to act as a person, and a community, of intention. The programs, led by Matthew Tift, explore the relevance of three kinds of intention for Unitarian Universalists: intention as doing (Feb. 11), intention as plans (Feb. 18), and intention as belief (Feb. 25). The categories serve as only as a guide, and we welcome intentional diversions.

Lake Fellowship is proud to welcome back performers Larry McDonough and Richard Terrill for a special program about the Music of Resistance. Blending songs with poetry, these two will emphasize the importance of our intentions and actions to resist injustice on our world.
When not playing his saxophone or writing poetry, Richard teaches in the MFA progam at Minnesota State University, Mankato as a Distinguished Faculty Scholar.
