A Quest for Racial Justice

Please join Marnie Karger as she leads a group discussion about how we can quest for racial justice. As a predominantly white congregation, we are, by default, members of the oppressive class in our culture. How then do we help solve the systemic and institutionalized problem of racial injustice? We'll discuss matters that pertain to our fellowship specifically as well as those that affect the larger UU community. This will also likely be a two-part discussion between this Sunday and next. We look forward to your thoughts and reflections.

Reason is on the rise. Americans--especially the millennial generation--are turning away from religion to atheism, humanism, and other forms of secular thought. What do freethinkers want? What does a less religious world look like? Wonderful Without Religion posits that life will be better for more people when we walk away from our ancient faith traditions. Join the author and take part in a lively discussion on the possibilities and perils of a secular future.

Indeed, without the Ancient Greek methods of warfare, democracy would not have evolved as it did.

Every Commitment is a Small Commitment

It's been well over a month since the new year started. How are you doing with regards to your New Year's Resolutions? While many of us make promises and commitments at the start of a new year, only a few of us end up following through with them, even by this point on the calendar. The bottom line is that change and commitment is difficult to execute and maintain.
